Bandhavgarh - Medieval Trade Destination

 

Going by the recent excavations of Archeological Survey of India in and around Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve,days are not far that apart from being famous for Tiger Tourism Bandhavgarh situated in Dist - Umaria in Indian state of Madhya Pradesh will also have a prominent place is Archeological Tourism.

ASI has begun its stage two excavation work here from April 1,2023 which will continue till the end of June 2023,as per Mr Shreekant Bajpai from ASI Jabalpur range,the team has discovered a small Buddh Stupa,apart from it few days back two big size Stupas admeasuring 15 & 18 Feets respectively have been excavated from Bandhavgarh,if these discoveries have anything to indicate soon this region can be included in Buddhist Circuit of India Tourism and might become a place of religious significance for Buddhists from different parts of globe.

Mr Bajpai said that after carefully studying the excavated antiques it seems to us that Bandhavgarh was an important destination in the trade route which used to connect south India to north India during medieval period.

Shyonak - Patent RDVVV Jabalpur



Biology Department of renowned Rani Durgavati University of Jabalpur - Madhya Pradesh has finally completed its research on the medicinal benefits of ‘Shyonak’ (a native tree of Madhya Pradesh which is found abundantly around the state) and has received a Patent for the same.


The research which was under process for almost a decade has finally being concluded,the Patent will give the university exclusive copyright over medicinal uses of this tree for more than two decades,hence anyone conducting research on medicinal uses of this tree will now have to take approval from the university.


Shyonak tree (Oroxylum indicum) is full of medicinal benefits and all its parts right from its roots to bark to leaves and even its fruit can help preparing medicines effective in treating different categories of viral infections.



Vice Chancellor of Rani Durgawati University Jabalpur Shri Prof Kapil Dev Mishra expressed happiness on this development and said “the professors had been working hard since long for this research,this development will further strengthen the reputation of our university.”
